Giger/Gyger von Engi, Canton Glarus
Swiss genealogist Werner Murer compiled these data in 1994 at my request. Consists of assorted notes and anecdotes about the Giger family dating from the 14th century.

Swiss Passengers aboard the Corinthian
from Le Havre to New York, arrived November 11, 1853. I suspect most of the Swiss passengers were from Canton Glarus. Among the more common names on the list are Tschudi, Jost, Giger, Mahler, Marti, Schaffner, Von Arx, and Pfister.
